US journalist is in prison in Iran

- An Iranian court has American journalist Jason Rezaian sentenced to imprisonment. The state news agency IRNA reported Sunday that a spokesman for the Ministry of Justice announced that Rezaian has received a prison sentence, but not how long the punishment.

Rezaian has both American and Iranian citizenship and worked for The Washington Post in Tehran. He was arrested in July 2014 and accused of espionage. In October brought justice in Iran out that he was convicted and could lodge an appeal within three weeks.
