basel (anp/dpa) - The world's richest people have become richer again last year. Due to the stock boom, rising real estate prices and economic growth, they saw their average assets rise by 19 percent. This is evident from the annual billionaire report that the PwC accountancy firm and the Swiss bank UBS published on Friday.

Together they had a record capital of 8.9 trillion dollars (7.8 trillion euros). For comparison: a trillion is a one with twelve zeros. The world now has 2158 billionaires, 179 more than in 2016.
