Studying in Belgium is the most popular
groningen - Students studying abroad with study funding choose Belgium the most often, especially medicine, veterinary medicine or psychology. That's what DUO says, when it was ten years ago that you could take student finance for another country for the first time.
Students can then follow a full bachelor or master abroad. 'Meanwhile, every year, more than 10,000 students use', according to DUO.
In the last ten years, almost 76,000 Dutch students took their study funding to 1300 universities in 86 countries, DUO counted. They prefer to stay in northwestern Europe (usually also in Great Britain and Germany) or go to the United States. But Brazil, Australia and Japan are also chosen quite often.
Almost a quarter of all students pass the boundary for an internship or partial study.
