orlando - Authorities in Florida have four alligators in the lake where on Tuesday a two-year old child was taken, slain and examined. However, the child is still found no trace.

The boy, whose name was not disclosed, was Tuesday night by an alligator dragged into the water when he was playing on a beach at Disney World in Orlando. The child's father tried to save his son from the jaws of the beast, but failed.

'The father has done his best,' said Jeff Williamson of the local police at a news conference. 'He tried to save the child, but to no avail. 'The father ran a few minor injuries to his arm.

A lifeguard who worked on the beach could not reach the child. 'He was too far away, and the alligator swam with the child. '

With over sixty rescuers are using sonar, helicopters and divers to the boy. The sheriff hopes in daylight to have more success. 'We continue to search until we found something,' he told.

A spokeswoman from Walt Disney World Resort announced that everyone was excited by the tragic incident. 'Our thoughts are with the family and we assist them where possible. '
