Sisi leads with 21.5 million votes in elections Egypt

cairo - The Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi leads the tentative election results with 21.5 million votes, reports the state newspaper Akhbar el-Youm.

Sisi has virtually no opposition in the elections because other serious candidates have been arrested or intimidated. The only remaining challenger, Moussa Mostafa Moussa, himself a supporter of Sisi, stands at 721,000 votes.

There are approximately 60 million voters in Egypt. Some say they have been paid to vote. The final result is expected on Monday.
