Russin accused of disturbing elections VS

washington - The US authorities have accused a Russian of disrupting the American political system. The woman, identified as Elena Chushajnova, is suspected of being one of the driving forces behind a plot to influence the 2016 and 2018 elections.

According to the Ministry of Justice, she would have led and financed an operation known as 'project Lachta', named after a skyscraper in St. Petersburg. Washington thinks that things happened under the umbrella of the Russian oligarch Yevgeny Prigozjin and the Concord group that controls them.

By creating thousands of accounts on social media and through other channels such as emails that appeared to be from Americans, an attempt was made to unleash an 'information war' to disturb the political process in the US.
