Oppo comes with 5x zoom phone

barcelona - The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Oppo comes with mobile phones with 5x optical zoom. The lenses thereof are simply hidden in the unit and take hardly any more space than a conventional camera module. Oppo presented the zoom lens Monday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

With optical zoom, the magnification made possible through different lenses. The counterpart digital zoom makes photos bigger by blowing up the pixels. In addition, however, the quality deteriorates.

In order to allow the 5x zoom, oppo has a good look at the periscope of a submarine. In addition to an ordinary lens where the light falls through perpendicularly by a plurality of lenses on the camera sensor, the Oppo module has to sit for a lens. The light that falls therein, is bent by a prism 90 degrees C in a series of lenses that sit sideways in the phone. This creates more space and the zoom is enabled. According Oppo happens without degradation.

Since there are more and last year more phones that have 2x optical zoom. That, too, is accomplished by using two lenses, such as for example in the iPhone 7 Plus, but which are both in the normal fashion in the phone. According to Oppo, the new camera module, however, even 5.7 mm thick. The company has not yet announced phone with the new technology.
