Hurricane Lane is now a tropical storm

honolulu - Hurricane Lane has so far been weakened that officially there is no longer a hurricane but a tropical storm. On the night from Friday to Saturday (Dutch time), Lane weakened. First to a hurricane of the 1st category and then become a tropical storm.

Lane is now around the center of the Hawaiian Islands and has passed the largest and southernmost island. The Central Pacific Hurricane Center continues to warn that the expected rainfall can cause flooding and that damage can be caused by the wind.
