Footbridge over the Vltava in Prague collapsed

prague - In the north of Prague this weekend a footbridge in the Vltava river has disappeared. In addition, a man and a woman were seriously injured and two others light.

The partially suspended suspension bridge from 1984, which connects the district of Troja with the southern districts, suddenly collapsed on the full length on Saturday afternoon and disappeared with the victims in the river. The fire brigade spent hours searching under wreckage and under water for more casualties, but that was not the case.

Czech media blamed the municipality on Sunday for failing to maintain or replace the bridge. In 2012 it would already have been established that metal parts of the structure were rusted. It is fortunate in an accident that the bridge started in early December. In the summer, the bridge was used extensively by families who went to the zoo and botanical gardens in the Troja district.
