AfD will ban minarets and burqas

stuttgart - Congress of the German anti-immigration party Alternative for Germany (AfD) on Sunday overwhelmingly approved a manifesto stating that Islam is incompatible with the German constitution and that minarets and burqas should be banned.

The party was founded three years ago and grew rapidly with the arrival last year of more than a million refugees, mostly Muslims, to Germany. The party is not in parliament, but has representatives in half of the state parliaments.

During the second day of the congress 2000 delegates held a highly emotional debate, German media reported. Calls for measures against,, Islamic symbols of power '' were received with cheers. A plea for a dialogue with German Muslims could count on just boos.
