Vandals destroy ancient footprint dino

Vandals have partially destroyed a 115 million-year-old footprint of a dinosaur in a national park in Australia.

Paleontologists found the impression in Flat Rocks eleven years ago. The area is known for the numerous finds of dinosaur fossils.

The perpetrators probably deliberately smashed the footprint with three toes with a hammer or stone. They left the knocked-down pieces.

'The importance of that footprint is that it represents a moment that is frozen in time, when a carnivorous dinosaur stood on that spot and left an imprint of his foot,' said a ranger to the BBC.
