Thousands walk along Pride Walk

Thousands of people attend Amsterdam in Amsterdam on the Pride Walk, a demonstrative parade that draws the annual Pride Amsterdam (formerly Gay Pride).

The parade goes from the homomonument at the foot of the Westertoren via the Leidseplein to the Vondelpark. The motto is 'Walking for those who can not join us'. This calls for attention for people in the 76 countries where homosexuality is punishable.

The name of the event has changed because the flag no longer covered the cargo. The Pride is not all for lesbians and gays, but also bisexuals, transgenders and people with intersectic condition.
