Pence postpones trip to Middle East

US Vice President Mike Pence is planning a planned trip to the Middle East.

Congress is expected to vote on tax reforms in the short term. If the votes in the Senate cease, the Vice President may be the deciding factor. The Republicans currently have a very tight majority in the upper house of 52 out of 100 seats. That will soon shrink further, because a Democrat won the interim Senate election in Alabama.

Pence would actually board the plane on Saturday, but is now planning to leave Tuesday. His first stop is Cairo, where, according to the source, President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi is sitting around the table. The vice president would actually meet the Palestinian leader Abbas, but he said it was canceled because of the fuss about the American recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
