Obstacle Race is Singaporean fatal

A 37-year-old Singaporean man is deceased Saturday while participating in an obstacle race, or obstacle race, on the Indonesian island of Bintan.

The obstacle course had a length of 21 kilometers and was the course of the two-day Bintan Reebok Spartan Race. After the victim collapsed, he was rushed to the Tanjung Pinang General Hospital, about 50 km south of the site of the event.

Unfortunately, the help came too late. 'The medical team declared him upon arrival at the hospital dead,' said a spokesman for the local police. The victim's body was Sunday back to Singapore.

More than 3 000 participants from 25 countries took part in the Bintan Reebok Spartan Air, one of the largest tourist events in the region. To reach the finish line, participants must be over 21 kilometers take more than 30 obstacles.
