Japanese government cheers with disabled people

Government agencies in Japan seem to be wobbling on a large scale with figures about disabled people they employ.

Legally, ministries and local authorities must employ 2.5 percent of disabled people. That appears to be 1.19 percent at the moment. Commercial companies must employ 2.2 percent disabled people and if they fail to do so, larger companies will be subject to fines.

Tokyo has announced a major national survey. The Japanese government wants to better respond to the rapidly aging society of the country to the needs of people with physical and mental disabilities. An impulse is expected from the Paralympic Games held in Tokyo in 2020.
