IS kills 26 refugees with car bomb

A total of 26 people were killed on Friday by a car bomb attack in a refugee camp northeast of Deir al-Zor in eastern Syria.

Dozens of people were injured. The attack would be the work of the terrorist group Islamic State. Syrian state press agency SANA reported 20 deaths and 30 wounded.

The attack took place near the oil field al-Jafra, which rebels supported by the United States had retaken to IS in September. Syrian government troops also try to control the oil fields at the border with Iraq, which were held by IS since 2014.
