Five hikers deposit 500 meters from mountain

Five hikers last weekend killed when they attacked a mountain ridge 500 meters down in western Canada.

The five walkers had reached the top of the mountain when she stepped onto an overhanging snow and ice edge. The weight, however, the ice broke under their feet and threw five in depth. The mountaineers belonged to two local clubs of mountaineers. They all lived in the region around Vancouver in British Columbia province.

The sixth walker had given the five missing, and a search began. He himself had the others after arriving at the summit not seen, found only in traces. Sunday sniffer dogs found four bodies, the fifth body was discovered later.
