Ex-diplomat Syria arrested for rape

France has arrested a former Syrian diplomat who was wanted for rape in Switzerland in 1997.

The Swiss prosecutor made his arrest Wednesday. Switzerland has requested the man's extradition.

During the trial hurried prosecutors about the 'intolerable cruelty' and perversity of the Syrian. The former diplomat has denied raping the then sixty women.

When the Swiss authorities then requested Syria to lift his diplomatic immunity, he was recalled 'urgent'. About a year later he was still arrested in Germany, but he disappeared from view when he was released on bail and ran off.
