Does Germany end on government crisis?

In Germany, the coalition parties CSU and CDU are increasingly at risk of the asylum problem.

CSU party leader Horst Seehofer will come with a statement later on Sunday. CSU wants to return asylum seekers registered elsewhere in Europe to the border. Merkel wants to receive them in camps in Germany, after which they are returned. Seehofer sees nothing in it.

If the two parties do not come out, a government crisis is on the horizon, analysts warn.

This week the European heads of state and government met in Brussels to discuss the migration issue. There they succeeded in reaching a political agreement on a number of points, but not on countering the travel of asylum seekers through Europe.
