Do everything to stop hard brexit

The European Union must do everything in its power to prevent the United Kingdom from leaving the union without agreement on the new relationship.

Kurz said it is indispensable for an agreement to be reached with London and for EU rules to remain in place. In London, the political struggle over what kind of agreement is to be achieved rages in full force.

But according to Prime Minister Theresa May her proposal for the Brexit will ultimately prove to be the only alternative. May said that the British want an agreement and the parliament will soon agree with what May has proposed. She said this in a Monday interview with the BBC.

May's draft agreement maintains good trade relations with the EU and at the same time offers Great Britain the opportunity to seize the opportunities that the brexit entails, according to the prime minister. A small majority of British voters voted in a referendum in 2016 for the departure from the EU. On 30 March, the British are no longer members.
