Catalonia appeals to Article 155

The Catalan government appeals to the Constitutional Court in Madrid against the application of Article 155 of the Constitution.

The government of Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy has decided last week because Catalonia wants to call for independence.

By deploying the article, the Spanish government can suspend the autonomy of Catalonia and take over the board itself. In addition, the Spanish Senate must still give permission for the application of Article 155. The senators vote on the government's intention on Friday.
