brussels - Because young people have thrown stones on the tracks from a bridge, train traffic between Brussels-North and Schaarbeek is temporarily interrupted on Tuesday evening. 'We do this for safety reasons,' says Thomas Baeken of Infrabel.
Whether there is damage to trains or tracks is currently unclear. 'We wait until the police are on the spot to investigate whether we can continue the train traffic in a safe manner', explains Baeken at Het Nieuwsblad.
Because of the incident, there are currently no trains running between Brussels-North and Schaerbeek. 'That also has an effect in the surrounding stations, where trains are held up. For example, trains have been waiting for a while in the stations of Schaarbeek, Vilvoorde, Mechelen and even Antwerp. '
