Woman throws as ex-lover in doghouse

hasselt/maaseik - A 51-year-old woman from Maaseik in Flanders was sentenced Monday to pay a fine of 1,500 euros plus thousands of euros in damages. She had scattered the ashes of her 47-year-old ex-partner in the doghouse at her home.

The woman indicated in court that it was his last wish. However, this was not noted anywhere.

The brother and the mother of the man from Maaseik would have liked half the ashes, and this was also agreed, but after the cremation the ex-partner of the man went off with all the ashes.

The man died in February 2014 in the bed of his new girlfriend in Eindhoven. At that time he still had a cohabitation contract with his ex, with whom he also had a business relationship.

The judge agreed with the brother and mother of the man. The convicted woman must pay a compensation of 3. 376 euro to the family of her ex.
