monchengladbach - A widow from Mönchengladbach has given away a gold treasure without realizing it.
The 78-year-old woman brought a cardboard box of special food, which her husband used on doctor's advice before his death, to an old people's home. However, an employee found a plastic box containing 109 golden coins between the food items.
She did not trust it and informed the police. That told Thursday that it was Krugerrands of each 1 troy ounce of gold (31.1 grams) with a total value of more than 100,000 euros. Agents returned the collection to the rightful owner. Although she knew that her husband was saving coins, she did not know the price and had no idea where he kept them.
