Whale dies: 80 plastic bags in the belly

bangkok - A whale died after the animal had swallowed more than eighty plastic bags. The Thai Ministry of Public Works has made an attempt to control the life of the mammal, but this was of no avail.

On Monday the young male was found in the water at the border with Malaysia. This is how the AD reports. Rescue workers have kept the whale with buoys and belts floating and the animal was protected from the sun with an umbrella.

The ministry reports via Facebook that a team of veterinarians has been busy keeping the whale alive, but that the animal has passed away on Friday.

During the rescue operation, the whale spit out five bags, but at the autopsy it appeared that the mammal had more than 80 plastic bags in his stomach. In total about 8 kilos.
