paris - The tribute to the French police officer Arnaud Beltrame, who took the place of a hostage during a terrorist attack in the southern department of Aude, is Wednesday in Paris from 11.30 am. The Elysée has announced that the meeting is public, the station BFMTV reported.

The tribute takes place at the Dôme des Invalides. Relatives of Beltrame and of three other victims of the terror campaign are present.

The 25-year-old Redouane Lakdim first opened fire on a group of police officers in the historic town of Carcassonne on Friday, which wounded a cop. Then he shot a car driver before taking the attendees in a supermarket in nearby Trèbes hostage. There he killed two people while shouting 'Allahu akbar'.

Beltrame was an officer of the gendarmerie. He took the place of a hostage during the hostage. He died of the injuries sustained by the terrorist action.
