Weather boat capsized migrants

athens - The Greek coastguard Friday launched a rescue operation after 140 kilometers a boat had capsized with refugees for the coast of Crete. Also ships nearby join the rescue operation. The Greek authorities have so far rescued 250 people from the sea.

It was not clear how many people on board. Greek media speculate about possible seven hundred passengers. Athens assumes that the boat was en route from Egypt to Italy.

Since the Balkan route for migrants wanting is almost cut off to Western Europe, to sail again been many attempts through North Africa to Italy.
