Water 'German Oude IJssel' sinks

- The water level in the German river IJssel, the headwaters of the Oude IJssel, drops. The risk of flooding has receded in the area around Hamminkeln that about 15 kilometers from the Dutch border, south of Doetinchem.
This reports the The Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung Friday. Thursday afternoon, there appeared to be a hole in a dike and flooded the rising waters on the edge of the embankment there. Authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia beat when great alarm. The hole was plugged. When a levee breach would flood the major highway A3 in Hamminkeln. The highway runs including from the Ruhr to the Dutch border near Zevenaar. It did not have much gescheeld whether the road was Thursday night by police closed to traffic.
