Walmart increases age for arms to 21

World March 1, 2018 06:09

bentonville - Supermarket chain Walmart stops selling weapons and ammunition for people under the age of 21. The chain is also in the process of removing products from their shop that resemble attack weapons, including non-lethal airsoft guns and toy guns, let it know in a statement.

Walmart already stopped selling finger arms and semi-automatic weapons in 2015, such as the AR-15. This was the weapon that the shooter Nikolas Cruz used to create a massacre at a school in Parkland, Florida. Since the shooting in Parkland, there has been a fierce debate in the US about stricter weapons legislation.

'We take our duty to be a responsible seller of weapons very seriously and now go further than federal law, by making it mandatory for consumers to go through a check,' the chain says in a statement.
