Volcano comes after more than a century to life

managua - A volcano in Nicaragua after more than a century of peace suddenly came to life. It is the Momotombo, about 60 kilometers northwest of the capital Managua, which was active for the last time in 1905.
According to eyewitnesses, the 1297 meter high volcano spews lava, ash and lots of smoke. The authorities have called on the population to remain calm. No evacuations are ongoing.
