Venezuela: US is sabotaging our elections

caracas - Venezuela has accused the United States of sabotaging Sunday's presidential election. The US has imposed new sanctions against senior members of the ruling Socialist Party. The Venezuelan opposition says that the elections were manipulated by the government of Socialist President Nicolas Maduro in order to achieve a great victory.

According to the US, Venezuela benefits from illegal drug transports. Earlier, the US also denounced Maduro of violating human rights and the Americans see Maduro as the man who has plunged Venezuela into an economic and political crisis.

Maduro calls the new sanctions a 'systematic campaign of aggression by President Donald Trump's government, which lacks any legal basis.' Maduro also said that he was not surprised at the timing of the measures that come at the moment the citizens to defend their democratic rights.

The Venezuelan opposition calls the elections a 'mockery'.
