caracas - Venezuelan authorities this week arrested four bakers who made illegal brownies, croissants and other delicacies. They kept themselves thus not a new rule that 90 percent of the available wheat to be used for baking bread.

The socialist president Nicolas Maduro wants to reduce the large deficits on necessities with the measure. He therefore sent troops and inspectors set out to inspect hundreds of bakeries in the capital Caracas.

Bakers are in their stomach with the new rule. According to their trade association, many entrepreneurs can not keep afloat the head as they may not sell more expensive products. Also, many bakers hold the government responsible for a nationwide shortage of wheat.
