caracas - The Venezuelan government on Saturday released seven imprisoned opposition activists. Among them is former presidential candidate Manuel Rosales. The ex-governor of Zulia province had returned from exile last year and had since been under house arrest. He was accused of having illegally enriched.
The opposition demands that all political prisoners be freed in Venezuela before they will enter into a dialogue with the socialist government of President Nicolas Maduro. The South American country is in a deep economic and political crisis.
