Venezuela customized advice

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday updated travel advice for Venezuela. Travel to cities and densely populated areas is not recommended. The advice is to only go there if it is strictly necessary. The reason is the increased crime in Venezuela.

The country is in an economic and political crisis. Food is scarce and therefore large rationed and the risk of unrest and demonstrations. Last week there were already looting of shops. For Saturday are planned in the capital Caracas demonstrations, which expired violent.

Travelers can better stay away from demonstrations, particularly in the cities. They must take account of scarcity of food, water and electricity. Travellers also enjoined not to travel to the border with Colombia because of increased tensions between the two countries.
