USA: deal with Iran was based on lies

World May 1, 2018 20:54

washington - The nuclear agreement that Iran concluded with a number of superpowers in 2015 has, according to the White House, been made under false pretenses. A US government spokeswoman said that at the time, Iran was much more advanced in developing a nuclear program than it claimed.

'In the run-up to the agreement, Iran lied,' said the White House spokeswoman. She called the Iranian leaders 'dishonest actors. '

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on Monday that Tehran had lied about the development of nuclear weapons for years. According to Netanyahu, Iran has set up a secret project, Amad, to design, create and test nuclear warheads.

Iran promised in 2015, after negotiations with world powers, to phase out its own nuclear program in exchange for the withdrawal of international sanctions. The US President Donald Trump recently called for his abrogation of the agreement and he wants to tighten sanctions against the Tehran regime again.
