US Vice President Biden to Turkey

ankara - US Vice President Joe Biden will visit Turkey. The White House showed Saturday that Biden travels to Ankara on 24 August.

It is first time since the failed coup in Turkey visiting a senior representative of the US government of Turkey.

Since the failed coup on 15 and 16 July is the relationship between the United States and the Government of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan deteriorated. Erdogan holds in the United States residing cleric Fethullah Gulen responsible for the coup attempt. Turkey wants the extradition of Gulen but to the chagrin of Erdogan the US push for a fair trial and a formal request with evidence.
