'US forces operating in Libya '

- US special forces operating since late last year from two outposts in Libya. There they try to recruit allies for a possible offensive against terror group Islamic State, say sources told The Washington Post.

It would be two small teams which are stationed in the east and west of the country. They have inter alia to build a relationship with groups that IS possible to attack in the city of Sirte. The terrorist group has so far thousands of fighters in the North African country.

The soldiers assess the local security situation. That should enable the United States to any greater mission personnel to get safely on the spot. Should it come to that, there are, according to officials dozens of potential targets in the picture that are bombarded from the air.
