US divorce almost 2000 children from parents

washington - Since the introduction of a stricter policy in mid-April, nearly two thousand refugee children, who have entered the US illegally from Mexico, have been separated from their parents. US media reports this on the basis of figures from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The US government stepped up the sharpening of mothers to start their dangerous journey to the US with their children. All people who enter the country illegally are now labeled as criminals and detained. Their children are not allowed to stay there and come under the care of the Ministry of Health.

The policy is under severe criticism in the US.

The stricter zero-tolerance policy was introduced on April 19. Until May 31, the DHS 1995 had children who were taken away from their parents because they were being prosecuted. The number has risen sharply with the previous period. Between 1800 and February this year there were 1800 cases. In total, it now concerns nearly four thousand children who have been taken care of elsewhere.

The DHS did not want to give information about the age of the children but stated that babies are not separated from their parents.
