UN: less money to help Yemen

World May 18, 2016 06:54

- The UN warns that they fall short a lot of money for humanitarian aid to the war-torn Yemen violence.

It reported to the UN on Tuesday. Of the promised 1.6 billion euros, the organization has received only 16 percent of its members.

According to a UN official, the number of lenders shrunk dramatically in recent months. Countries like the US, Japan and the European Union have transferred money. But from neighboring Saudi Arabia, which relies on a coalition since March 2015 against Shiite Houthi rebels, this year has been nothing, says the organization.
