UN envoy urges Syria truce

geneva - The UN special envoy to Syria on Monday an urgent appeal made by the United States and Russia to seek a cease-fire in Syria fighting in many areas to save his now resurfaced.

Syria mediator Staffan de Mistura arrived with his statement after a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry and the Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir in Geneva. Tuesday he flies to Moscow for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
