Marney was suspended as a UKIP member at the weekend. Bolton became party leader at the end of September and is already the fifth figure to do so since Nigel Farage's departure in September 2016. UKIP was the driving force behind the 2016 referendum on EU membership and the choice to exit the union (brexit).
