Uber watched competitor Lift

san francisco - Taxi app Uber has drivers competitor Lyft monitored with special software. That has unveiled The Information. The software was in use until early last year.

The software, called Hell, it made for Uber possible to see how much Lyft drivers were available and what their rates. Uber also could see which Lyft drivers also drove for Uber. Those drivers could thus be persuaded to cease their activities for Lyft.

The software called Hell as a reference to Heaven software that could track Uber customers. That software, also known as 'God View' was abused by Uber-workers to stalk journalists, stars and ex-girlfriends. Uber also still used special software to keep government inspectors.

The article is a new blow to the Uber under fire. The company has been accused of sexual harassment and discrimination several times this year and has been sued by Waymo's sister company Waymo because it would have stolen its self-propelled cars.
