kabul - At least eighteen people were killed by an explosion at a restaurant in the Afghan capital Kabul. According to sources within the security services it concerns eight agents and ten civilians, reported news channel TOLO.
High officials of a political party had reportedly gathered in the building. Outside, an explosive exploded. It may be a car bomb. The explosion destroyed at least three cars in the area according to witnesses. Several buildings also suffered damage.
Security forces have sealed off the environment. Ambulances arrived after the explosion to take the victims away. The responsibility for the attack has not yet been claimed. According to TOLO it is the second time this year that supporters of the Jamiat-e Islami party are the target of an attack.
