copenhagen - Two American students have come to life because their rented boat in the port of Copenhagen was rammed by one or more jet skis. One of the victims died Saturday night, the other Sunday in the hospital. There were also six injured.

The Danish media reported that the police had arrested eight suspects in connection with the accident near the Langebro bridge in the center of the city. They quickly ripped on their watercraft, which is forbidden at this point, as well as water skiing and windsurfing. After the fatal collision, some flew on the run.

I have to warn tourists and exchange students from combining alcohol and boating trips in the inner harbor where there also are ferries and other fast going boats.

The boat the Americans were using was very small and they might also have shown a judgment which could have been less than 100 percent taking into consideration what they had alcohol onboard. It was a tragedy bound to happen and all this because the authorities allows boating firms to rent out small boats without proper education in maritime laws. This is not a small lake. This is a busy harbor.

The tourists cannot be blamed but the businessmen who run these businesses are only interested in making profit.

Please do not combine sea activities and alcohol in Denmark. Things happen very fast and suddenly people die.
