Tusk wants to keep an eye on EU summit

brussels - The 28 leaders of the European Union meet in Brussels on Thursday and Friday before their autumn summit. EU President Donald Tusk is proposing a new process for faster knocking on sensitive topics.

He thinks he can break through the regular impasses using what he calls Decision Notes, decision-making pieces, in which he describes the core of a conflict between the EU countries. He then expects a solid discussion and then a solution. If it does not work, then some Member States can take the lead if the door remains open to the others. According to initiates, the new method is in taste in most countries.

Thursday at 14.00 Tusk receives government leaders and presidents. During the first session from 15.30 hours, migration, digital Europe and security are the themes. At 19.30 the ladies and gentlemen will turn for the work dinner. Main dish is the relationship with Turkey. North Korea and Iran are also being discussed, as well as the EU's free trade policy.

On Friday, leaders are expected to have a working breakfast at 09.00 for the discussion of the 'Leaders' Agenda for the next two years. Because the United Kingdom is a member until March 29, 2019, the British Prime Minister may be there. From 10.30 pm she has to leave and talk 27 more about the brexit. The summit is expected to end at 13.00 with press conferences.
