istanbul - Turkish rescue troops after a search of nine found a Syrian pilot who had crashed his MiG fighter jet in the border of Syria and Turkey. He had been able to eject safely with his parachute and was transferred to a Turkish hospital with exhaustion, the governor of Hatay province told the news agency Anadolu.
It is still unclear which of the jet crashed. The Islamist rebel group Ahrar al-Sham claimed to have shot down the aircraft, but according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has no evidence for this.
