Turkish opposition to court for referendum

World April 21, 2017 13:21

ankara - The biggest opposition party in Turkey continues to prosecute against the outcome of the referendum last Sunday. The CHP has now filed a complaint with the court.

The case is mainly aimed at the decision of the national electoral council to allow unposted ballot papers while not legally permitted. The electoral council earlier this week wiped all opposition opposition parties to the table during the referendum.

The referendum was won by President Erdogan's yes camp. This opens the way for changes in the constitution that give the president more power.
