ankara - Turkey and Israel are about to normalize their relations. Another meeting or two and the very old on the Israeli storming of a Turkish aid ship in the world, thinks Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu.
Israel and Turkey were allies for decades, but the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip drove them apart. A Turkish ship full of relief supplies was en route to Gaza was boarded violently in 2010 by Israeli commandos. Ten crew members died.
It is for Turkey it is paramount that Israel lifts the blockade, Cavusoglu said in an interview with state broadcaster TRT Haber. Israel ponders not there.
