Tsunami threat after heavy quake Papua New Guinea

singapore - In the night from Saturday to Sunday has been a major earthquake in Papua New Guinea. About fifty kilometers west of Arawa a quake was measured at the Bougainville island with a magnitude of 8.0.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) has outstanding a tsunami warning for a large area. The center announced that the next three hours, dangerous waves in the surrounding area are possible.
The warning applies to include the coast of Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Nauru, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Vanuatu, Chuuk and Indonesia.
