Trump wants to replace top advisor again

World March 16, 2018 10:33

washington - US President Donald Trump has decided to dismiss his national security advisor Herbert McMaster. The White House has not yet made a decision about who should replace him, The Washington Post reports on several sources.

It would be the second time that a national security advisor of the current president has to leave. McMaster was the replacement for Mike Flynn, who had to leave shortly after taking office. He was accused of having misled Vice President Mike Pence about his contacts with the Russian ambassador in the United States.

In the meantime the days of McMaster would also have been counted. Trump would have complained that his safety advisor is too rigid. Also his briefings would take too long and not be relevant enough. There have been rumors about the approaching departure of McMaster for some time, but according to sources a clear decision has now been made.
